Looking for a winter wonderland to take the kids? Corin Forest boasts snow play, skiing, snow boarding and ski school for both young and old and all on a budget!
Just 3 hours away from Sydney, or 45 minutes from Canberra, is this hidden treasure that families are going wild for! Tiffany Lindsay and her family of four tell us why Corin Forest should be on your winter holiday wish list.
Location, location, location
While majority of people will be heading to Perisher to hit the slopes, Corin Forest is closer to both Sydney and Canberra and accommodation is much cheaper than the big snow resorts.
In the scenic national park, Corin Forest is a beautiful setting for families who are looking for a snow experience with their kids.
Complete with the 2500 square metre snow play area, a custom-built beginner ski slope for skiers and snowboarders featuring a 75m long conveyor belt ski lift and the latest snow-making technology. What a time to be alive!
Snow play at Corin Forest on a budget
Kids will squeal in delight at the REAL (man-made) snow! But, if your family aren’t ski bunnies, that’s perfectly fine because the snow play area allows for tobogganing down hills, snow man making and who could resist making a family of snow angels.
“We stuck to the snow play area and let the kids run around and play,” says Tiffany. “We hired a toboggan for Xavier and he loved riding down the hill on it.”
Toboggan hire is $5 for 2.5hrs making it a steal if you don’t have your own.
The snow play area was very age appropriate for Xavier who was 4 at the time, our daughter Scarlett was 2 at the time had plenty of fun too.

Gear Hire at Corin Forest
If this is your first time at the snow, the great thing is that cost to hire it is fair.
“Try to book all your gear hire online so that you don’t waste time when you get there,” says Tiffany.
Jacket and Pants hire $20 for 2.5 hrs and boot hire is another $15 for 2.5hrs.
Ski and snowboard hire is $40 for 3.5 hrs.
“I would definitely go back. It is a good place to introduce kids to the snow. It’s not as busy and chaotic as the snow fields and is cheaper,” says Tiffany.
