Meal ideas for fussy toddlers

Hey ladies, what is your toddlers favorite food for lunch or dinner? I’m just doing my shopping list and looking for food ideas for my 15 month old.Meal ideas for fussy toddlers

Check out our ideas for getting fussy eater to eat

  • Simple quiche (with no pastry base) 1 packet jazz crushed, 150g diced bacon, 4 eggs, beaten, 1 onion, grated, 1 cup milk, 1 cup grated cheese. Combine all ingredients together (no base). Put into a greased oven-proof dish. Sprinkle a little grated cheese on top. Cook on 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Simple, quick and cheap AND soooo good!
  • Pumpkin soup. Chop onion, 2 garlic cloves, whole butternut pumpkin and a sweet potato and place in a large pot. Barely cover with liquid stock. Boil until vegies are soft. Blend. Add sour cream. You can adjust the thickness by removing some of the stock (you can always read it to thin it down). I often make it really thick for my toddlers so they can spoon it up without it dripping everywhere and we all LOVE it, plus it freezes really well of the stock (you can always read it to thin it down).
  • Super quick eggs for bub! Beat 1 or 2 eggs in a bowl with a fork, add grated cheese, chopped ham, and a dash of milk. Mix with fork. Microwave 30 secs. Mix. Microwave another 30secs (maybe a bit longer for 2 eggs). Roughly cut into chunks. Cool and serve. I just keep this fairly chunky and put on the high chair tray for my 13m DD to eat as finger food. She loves it!
  • Our my 9MO carrot cheddar mash with small bits of pasta and oregano.

  • My 12 month old favourite rec is lasagna with hidden veggies and bechamel sauce: Sauce: 2xchopped carrots, 1xchopped celery stick, 1xchopped red capsicum, 1xchopped red onion, 3xchopped garlic cloves, 1xchopped handful english spinach, 1x small handful of fresh basil, 2xcans tinned tomatoes, 500 grams of beef mince, 2-3 large swiss mushrooms, if required 1/2-1 cup water to make more sauce.. Add onion and garlic to splash of olive oil in pan and sautee, add carrot & celery and cook until soft, add all other veggies and cook for a few mins, add tinned tomatoes, basil & spinach & cook for around 20-30 mins. If your child is old enough add a tiny but of salt and pepper. Bechamel sauce: Melt butter (60 grams) until foaming. Add flour 1/3 cup flour. Cook, stirring, for 1 to 2 minutes or until bubbling. Remove from heat. Slowly add milk (3-4 cups), whisking constantly, until mixture is smooth. Return to heat. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, for 10 to 12 minutes or until sauce comes to the boil, thickens and coats the back of a wooden spoon. Remove from heat. Stir in parmesan (handful), salt and nutmeg to taste. Lasagna: layer meat and bechamel in baking dish, layer with fresh lasagna sheets followed by a layer of zucchini and sweet potato. Continue layering until you run out of ingredients and just ensure you finish last with meat sauce and mixed pizza cheese… Sounds complex, but its surprisingly easy and my DS has loved this dish since around 7 months!
