Rockmelon listeria warning

A rockmelon grower in NSW, who stopped production last Friday, has been linked to 10 cases of listeria. There are reports of 2 deaths in New South Wales.  Affected fruit has been removed from supermarkets, however do not eat any rockmelon you have at home.

Pregnant women, the elderly and those with poor immunity are those at the most risk of listeria causing damage.   Read about the risk of listeria in pregnancy.

Of the 10 cases there are 3 in Queensland, 3 in New South Wales and 1 in Victoria.

It has been recommended until more information is known that pregnant women should avoid rockmelon.
