Review of the Storksak Jude Nappy Bag (Natural/Grey)
The Storksak Jude Nappy Bag is a stunning combination of handbag elegance and backpack practicality. It is made from a water-resistant canvas, making it feel thick and durable for any condition (including babies – they are in themselves a messy condition!). The leather trimmings add a sophisticated touch to the bag, making it perfect for the stylish, everyday mum. The edges of the main zipper can also be clipped down to create a slimmer, chic look, or can be unclipped (which it does on its own when being used with the shoulder strap) to create a fuller-looking nappy bag.
There are several pockets and pouches in the Jude that make it perfect for mums who like to “organise” their bags, or carry their belongings such as wallet, phone and keys along with their essentials for baby. There are two pockets hidden under the feature strap on the front of the bag, and 2 pouches on the inside. There is also a large padded compartment inside the nappy bag to allow room for a laptop or other device (iPad for the kids perhaps?). The interior of the “Jude” is made from wipe-clean linings, of a gorgeous tan colour that matches the leather trimmings of the exterior.
The Storksak Jude Nappy Bag is a convertible nappy bag that can be worn in three different ways – as a handbag (using the short straps), over the shoulder or crossbody with the long shoulder strap, or as a backpack (unclipping the shoulder strap and using the extra rings on the back to feed through).
This nappy bag also comes with patented stroller straps, making it easy to attach to the pram on outings. After months of having to put my nappy bag under the pram (which until recently, never fit anyway!), it is nice to have the opportunity to attach my bag to the pram, with easy access to the contents.
When choosing a Nappy Bag, the thing I was looking for most of all was a bag I could use for my own belongings as well as for the baby products I would need to carry around. I pack a lot of things in my everyday bag, including the nappies, wipes, bags for disposing of nappies, spare clothes, hat and sunscreen (for bub), my wallet, keys, phone, two pairs of glasses…. The list goes on! Unfortunately not all bags have the space to carry all these items around, or if they do – it is a bit of a mish mash inside the Mary Poppins bag and I’m endlessly scrounging around for my bits and pieces. Of course, there is still a bit of that going on with the Jude – there are only a couple of interior pouches besides the main section of the bag – however the padded compartment has also been useful in storing items separately. This makes it easier for me to locate my wallet, phone, keys, and glasses, amidst the baby products in the bag.
The Storksak Jude Nappy Bag is one of the more expensive bags in this review, but also has a lot of extra features to justify the cost. The patented stroller straps and convertible 3-way wearing make it the perfect, practical bag for any mum and their style. I also love the look and design of the water-resistant canvas – it is by far one of my favourites in terms of style. I also like that it easily fits everything that I like to carry around, even if it is slightly less organised than I would like. Overall, I definitely think it is worth the expense of the bag.
Stand Out Features:
- The Storksak Jude Nappy Bag Water-resistant canvas design – stylish and practical.
- Bag is convertible and can be worn in 3 ways – handbag, shoulder/cross-body, and as a backpack.
- Patented stroller straps make it easy to attach to the pram and allow for easy access.
- Comes with a laminated change mat and zipped-up, insulated bottle holder.
- Easy wipe-down linings to allow for easy cleaning.
- Padded compartment inside the bag to store a laptop or device.
- The bag only has a couple of pouches/pockets, leaving the majority of items loose in the bag. Could require a bit of digging through the bag to find things if you carry a lot with you.
- Washability of the exterior?
- While the exterior is made of canvas and feels thicker and more durable, the fabric may be more prone to marks (such as pen, etc) or possible rips/tears. Make sure the bag is taken care of around little ones (as much as that is possible!)
